Tarot Readings at a Teen’s Party and a Well Run Event
Earlier this week I was asked to read Tarot cards at a birthday party for a 12 year-old. Her parents, also in the events industry, knew how to plan a party and, despite the fact that there were sixty 12 and 13 year-olds, the layout was beautiful and the party went like clockwork.
I sat at the dining room table, much too large for a typical booking where I am sitting one-to-one with my guest. But when the party was underway, kids and some adults could come and go and choose to observe while they waited their turn. The additional space provided by the table allowed for casual comings and goings.
While I normally prefer guests to have privacy, I have learned that teens like to get cards read in small groups. Perhaps you can recall that time of life when it seemed that your friends were everything. Knowing this is helpful when party planning for teens–they like group activities, especially those that can be performed in groups of three to six.
A DJ sat on the porch spinning tunes. Between us was the kitchen and the party food. This made for a easy flow of traffic as guests made their way from one area to another.
When attending a party it’s useful to observe what is going on around you… what activities are offered, take notice of the decor, the food… and see what you like and what you don’t like. Observe what seems to work and why.
It’s true that as a guest at a party, you are there to enjoy yourself. But while you do, you can quietly observe so you can apply your knowledge when it’s your turn to be party host.
